Ducking "downunder" was all part of the learning journey this week for eight first- and second-year STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) teachers and two managers from the Teach For America programme, which is part of the global Teach For All network.
The visitors, from Teach For America's Colorado region, had the opportunity to spend time in Teach First NZ consortium schools in Auckland – Kelston Boys High School (host school) and Northcote College (affiliate school) – before travelling north to Whangarei to listen to a range of educators at NorthTec.
The visitors were impressed with the schools, and said they had learned a great deal. The group also had the opportunity to spend time with Teach First NZ STEM participants, sharing their learning experiences. Teach First NZ thanks our partner schools and institutions for their superb organisation and warm hospitality.
