Assistant to the CEO - Kaiāwhina ki te CEO

We are seeking a new member of the team who shares our commitment to reducing educational inequality and who is looking for an opportunity to build a better future for our children and for our country.

As Assistant to the CEO, you will support the CEO in running the Ako Mātātupu: Teach First NZ Charitable Trust and head office as we scale our work and seek to grow our impact. This will require you to take responsibility for specific areas of work, as well as to complete areas of work delegated by the CEO on an ongoing basis, and to work closely with and support other members of the Ako Mātātupu team.

Campus Marketing Managers

We are on the hunt for outstanding university students to be our 2018 Campus Marketing Managers (CMMs) who believe that all young people in Aotearoa New Zealand should be able to reach their full potential, and want to raise awareness of our work at their university.

As a CCM, you will identify and inspire high calibre potential applicants to engage with the Ako Mātātupu: Teach First NZ mission, and ultimately apply for the programme. In doing so, you will play an important part in making equality a reality in Aotearoa New Zealand. You will be responsible for marketing and brand awareness, through tactics like:


  • Supporting partnerships with students, academics, clubs and societies, and other university influencers
  • Supporting the planning and running of events
  • Attending career fairs
  • Distributing flyers, posters and other marketing materials
  • Lecture bashes
  • 1 on 1 conversations with interested applicants.

Being a CMM is an excellent opportunity to gain new skills and develop on a personal and professional level.

Pre-Programme Coordinator - Kaiwhakahaere o te Hōtaka ā-Mua

We are seeking a new member of the team who shares our commitment to reducing educational inequality and who is looking for an opportunity to build a better future for our children and for our country.

The purpose of this new role is to support the Programme Director (Pre-Programme) in developing Ako Mātātupu: Teach First NZ's network of partner schools as we scale our work and seek to grow our impact. This will require the individual to take responsibility for specific areas of work, as well as complete tasks or areas of work delegated by the Programme Director on an ongoing basis, and to work closely with and support other members of the Ako Mātātupu team.
