The Recruitment Process
The online application is your first chance to share your story: your experiences, achievements, and motivations for working towards social change in Aotearoa. It should take between 1-2 hours to complete.
Applications are currently open, with a very limited number of remaining places, and are currently being reviewed on a rolling basis until all remaining places are filled. Applications will be screened on a first come, first serve basis.
After submitting your application you will hear back from us within a week. If successful, we will invite you to a Phone Interview.
Successful applicants will be invited to a phone interview, which is an opportunity to discuss your alignment in further depth through a 20-30 minute phone conversation. Face-to-face interviews are possible for those who prefer kanohi ki te kanohi. You can expect to hear back from us within the week.
Success here will lead you to a one-day Ako Centre, incorporating a pepeha process, an interview, a group exercise, a sample teaching lesson and self-reflection exercises. The final Ako Centres for 2019 will take place on the 8th and 10th October.
If you are successful at an Ako Centre, congratulations! You will be made an offer to start your leadership journey with Ako Mātātupu. The programme commences on 17th November 2019.
If you are still studying, or are in the process of meeting the entry requirements, there is an opportunity to submit an entry for the 2021 cohort. Successful applicants will be invited to a phone interview this year, and an Ako Centre in 2020.
