The panel said of Deloitte, “They have clearly chosen carefully who to support, and how they can add value, with a great focus on scaling up education charitable organisations.”
Deborah Lucas, Chief of Staff said “We are thrilled and excited to win a BACS GBE award this year in the Education category. The competition was very strong, with so many wonderful initiatives. The win demonstrates that the broader community sector believes we are on the right track towards making an impact that matters…. supporting the development of the next generation of New Zealanders.”
Shaun Sutton, Chief Executive of Teach First NZ, is thrilled that Deloitte has been acknowledged through this award; "Deloitte is one of Teach First NZ's founding corporate partners. Deloitte people were instrumental in getting Teach First NZ off the ground four years ago, and they continue to play an evolving role in sharing expertise and supporting the cause of educational excellence and equity through the work of Teach First NZ today. This Good Egg award is well deserved".
The awards are run by BACS (Business and Community Shares) which is an independent non-profit organisation made up of business and community organisations that aim to share skills, knowledge, and wisdom, and are assessed by an independent panel consisting of a number of community organisation leaders.
