Teach First NZ: Ako Mātātupu is an independent and non-partisan charitable trust, so we rely on vital monetary and in-kind contributions to ensure we can continue to help tackle educational inequality.
It’s a cold reality in Aotearoa New Zealand that where a child is born is one of the most significant factors to determine their educational prospects.
Individual and other philanthropic support helps Teach First NZ work towards changing this, and will ultimately help realise our vision that all young people in Aotearoa New Zealand achieve their full educational potential, regardless of their background.
Teach First New Zealand Trust is registered charity CC46327. All donations are tax deductible and a receipt will be provided.

Organisations are motivated by a range of reasons to engage with our programme. These include opportunities to take part in education and volunteering programmes, expansion of corporate responsibility initiatives, as well as the chance to support a pool of bright and highly motivated graduates.
“Chapman Tripp is a firm that is proud of its intellectual rigour. A quality education is an essential foundation for our young lawyers to achieve success. We’re delighted to be a founding partner of Teach First NZ, an organisation committed to expanding educational opportunity. We support Teach First NZ through our Community Programme – a substantial pro bono legal fund – focussing on investing in a stronger community, contributing to New Zealand’s economic future and supporting the arts.”
