We partner with schools who share our passion for addressing educational inequality and work alongside us towards a future where all young people in Aotearoa can realise their full potential.
Ako Mātātupu Teach First NZ hopes to partner with all schools that share this kaupapa.
Partnership opportunities include co-hosting events and workshops, sharing best practice with our network, receiving professional development, hosting school visits and employing one of our programme participants.
Employ a participant
At Ako Mātātupu Teach First NZ we are dedicated to delivering an exceptional, employment-based Initial Teacher Education pathway that develops outstanding teachers and leaders.
We recruit and select participants for their potential to make a meaningful impact in the classroom and beyond. They teach in high-demand subject areas, directly responding to the needs of the school.
Through our rigorous three-stage selection process, we identify individuals who have the skills and dispositions to be exceptional educators, and who hold an unwavering belief in the potential of all young people.
While working in schools, participants complete an approved Initial Teacher Education qualification, with support from Ako Mātātupu, their school, and a wide network of subject and pedagogical experts. Each participant also benefits from dedicated mentoring time, funded by the Ministry of Education.
