Vaka is Ako Mātātupu: Teach First NZ's FREE Summer School programme for students in years 7-13.
Held in early January, Vaka is a week-long programme of meaningful, connected learning experiences, allowing students to get ahead for the upcoming year. It's run by Ako Mātātupu and our programme participants, in Auckland, and brings together hundreds of students from the local community.
Vaka attendees are able to take courses in one of: Junior Literacy, Numeracy, Science or Te Reo Māori; Senior Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Te Reo Māori, English, Digital Technology or Technology.
Attendees are also provided FREE lunch and extra-curricular workshops.

We are looking to promote and gather interest from students in Auckland schools for our 2020 programme. If your school would like to bring along students, get in touch!
*Note that for senior level courses, students are able to complete assessments to gain NCEA credits.
