Support us

Teach First NZ is an independent and non-partisan charitable trust, so we rely on vital monetary and in-kind contributions to ensure we can continue to help tackle educational inequality.

It’s a cold reality in New Zealand that where a child is born is one of the most significant factors to determine their educational prospects.

Individual and other philanthropic support helps Teach First NZ works towards changing this, and will ultimately help realise our vision that all young people in Aotearoa New Zealand achieve their full educational potential, regardless of socioeconomic background.

Corporate support

Corporate support of Teach First NZ delivers a wide range of returns for any business, and has both immediate benefits and longer-term opportunities to achieve your corporate objectives.

“Deloitte has been working with Teach First since May 2005. Across its business Deloitte now employs 20 Teach First Ambassadors [Alumni] who continue to play a key role in reducing educational disadvantage. We are impressed by the impact Teach First has sustained in the schools they support”.
David Cruickshank, Chairman Board of Partners, Deloitte (UK)

Business and corporations often look for new ways of recruiting top talent, new ways to engage staff in a community context, and new ways to show commitment to improving New Zealand’s social outcomes. A corporate partnership with Teach First NZ can help you achieve these aims.

“When you look at Teach First participants they have a skill set that is more advanced than others – it’s as if they’ve done a business fundamentals course. If you can hold 30 kids’ attention on a Friday afternoon, you can do anything in business”.
Ian Jordan, Former Head of Consulting, UK and Ireland, Capgemini

What are the opportunities?

“Business in the Community is delighted to be a founding partner in Teach First. The common factor between education and industry is leadership. Teach First will give businesses the opportunity to invest in the next generation of leaders and to demonstrate directly their commitment to education and the community”.
Julia Cleverdon DVCO CBE, Former CEO, Business in the Community (UK)
